The Negro League's First Superstar

The Negro League was up and running in the earliest days of professional baseball. The talent pool was deep and due to the simple nature of the game; throw the ball, hit the ball, I consider the leagues to be equal and as such I treat Negro League stats with the same reverence I have for those of MLB. Pete Hill played professionally from 1899-1925, finishing with a .326 career average. Many of the iconic teams of that time employed Hill at some point. I painted the uniform with mixed emotions. I love the history and many different designs that were used over the years, but can't imagine what it was like playing in such heavy attire.
