This guy had a front row seat for some of baseball's most magical moments. Gabby Hartnett was behind the plate when The Babe hit his called shot at Wrigley, when Hubbell struck out five future Hall of Famers in succession at the 1934 All Star game, and when Dizzy Dean suffered his career shortening injury at the 1937 All Star game. His greatest moment came as darkness descended at Wrigley late in the 1938 season when his "Homer in the Gloamin'" put the Cubbies in first place. One of my original nine paintings as a member of my All Time Cub team.
