The Cubs were on the short end on what was one of the worst trades in baseball history when they sent this guy to their arch-rivals in St. Louis. Lou Brock would go on to a hall of fame career with over 3,000 hits, 1,610 runs and an all time record at that time of 938 stolen bases. A superb and consistent player, he was at his best in prime time as his .391 World Series career average and record 14 stolen bases confirms. When the Expos played their first home game ever they faced the Cardinals and Brock was in his usual lead off position making him the first player in league history to have an at bat in Canada.
