He never hit below .309 in a full season. Think about that. He won eight NL batting titles. Think about that. He hit .338 for his career and was a 15X All Star. The only thing you don't have to think about is his place in baseball history. Tony Gwynn was one of the best hitters to ever play the game. I fought this painting. Some flow, some don't, this one didn't. But in the end I think I got his mischievous, intense side as he got ready to step in the box. A true legend of the game.
