Legendary manager John McGraw called Ross Youngs "the greatest outfielder I ever saw". He died way too early at age 30 of a kidney disease. His election to Cooperstown is not without controversy as the age old argument of talent versus longevity was put to the test. His career lasted only 10 years, but he hit over .300 in 9 of those. I like the fact that he was elected in. If not for his illness he would have broke many records and be much more of a hallowed name in the discussion of greats of the game.
