This is one of the most unflattering paintings in my Hall of Fame collection. We share the last name, so I called him Uncle Mike and he was a superstar both on the field and my Strat-O-Matic baseball team. He was also a Cub Killer, once hitting 4 out of Wrigley in one game. That's why I joined Philly fans in treating him far worse than he deserved and painting him in his "disguise" he wore to try to hide from the boo birds while warming up. Quite possible the best third baseman in the history of the game, Uncle Mike Schmidt.
