Biz Mackey will go down as the first great catcher of the Negro Leagues. His defensive skills and throwing arm alone stood him out from the crowd, his bat was the gravy. He would finish among the career leaders in RBIs, slugging percentage, and batted .322 for his long career. One of my very simple paintings, meant as a tribute to the grainy photographs of the era.
