Frank Chance has a place at the top of the mountain of Chicago Cub legends. He not only helped the Cubbies win World Series Championships in 1907 and 1908 on the field as one of the best hitters in the game, he was also the team manager. He was the highest paid player in the league at a dazzling $25,000 per year and was one third of the most famous double play combo in baseball history. Players of that era often had off-season jobs and Chance's was a doozy; the great prize fighter John L. Sullivan called him "the greatest amateur brawler of all time". I started my collection by painting my All-Time Cub team, and Frank Chance was an obvious choice for first base. His was one of the first paintings I ever did. I have since painted all 261 members and love sharing them with baseball fans around the world.
