A Smooth Lanky Lefthander

No one can accuse Hal Newhouser of padding his stats during WWII, a time he was the most dominant pitcher in the AL. He applied for combat several times but for medical reasons the army turned him down. Everything came together for him in 1945 when he won the Triple Crown with 25 wins, a 1.81 ERA, and 212 strikeouts. I tried to capture his smooth, fluid motion in this painting of the Tiger Hall of Famer.
