A Classic Baseball Man

If you were a fan of the 40's and 50's you know what a solid player George Kell was. He hit .300 or better for eight straight years, was a 10x All-Star, and finished with a .306 career. Kell was one of the hardest guys to strike in in the history of the game. He holds the record for the fewest strikeouts of a batting champion when he struck out only 13 times in 1949, and only 287 times in 6,702 at bats throughout his career. His place in baseball lore didn't end when he retired as he went on to become the beloved play-by-play guy for the Tigers for 37 years.
